TE 450 2008

The frame is a semi-perimeter steel structure having oval and box tubes and a steering angle between 26° and 28°. The advantages of this new frame are that it permits a very advanced riding position with ergonomics designed to make riders of varying statures better fit into the ideal riding position, both while sitting and standing on the footpegs. Steering "stoppers" are new and positioned on the frame. Footrests have been moved forward by 15 mm. The aluminium engine guards and frame guards have also been redesigned to be more compact and light. The tank has been modified and is mounted both on Motocross and Enduro models.




Husqvarna created it so it would make a point in the highly acclaimed 250cc off-road category and considering the TE 250’s versatile character and impressive four-stroke power, we reckon they did a damn good job and the bike finds its honorable place among the best in the business.

Husqvarna first introduces the TE 250 in 2002 model year as an Enduro / off-road model participating in the race to celebrity and being powered by a 249.5cc four-stroke single-cylinder engine featuring four valves per cylinder and a bore and stroke of 76 x 55 mm. So apart from the carburetor, there isn’t much difference compared to the model reviewed today. There was also an E-starter fitted on the bike from the first day of production and that gets it even closer to what we are facing today.

Decisive for an Enduro bike is definitely the way it looks as the visual factor and the finishing touches have a significant impact on the sales charts and on how a bike is either appreciated or unappreciated.

Thank Husqvarna that the TE 250 completes with all the requirements and ends up being a beautiful trail machine. It not only attracts due to its slender and yet aggressive look, but thanks to the color combination which comes on all Husqvarna models.

The Red and White color scheme makes the Husky easy to identify and sets this maker apart from the strident colors used before the introduction of Red and White last year.

The riding position is exceedingly natural. High, wide bars are placed just where you want them to be, the sculptured seat is comfy and the low-set footpegs give your legs the sort of stretched-out treat that budget airline customers would kill for. The capacious 21-litre (5.5 gal) fuel tank tapers in at the bottom so knees are only a few inches apart when riding, giving you a good feeling of control. A three-way manually adjustable screen helps direct away the windblast on motorway cruises. Optional luggage and a sat-nav system will also be available.

RS 125

The RS 125 is the undisputed leader among 125 cc supersports. Aprilia has always led the field in lightweight sports bikes, pioneering new concepts and advanced solutions, and developing technology that others have had to struggle to follow. Like all Aprilia sports motorcycles, the RS 125 has benefited from the sophisticated technology that has been developed over years of success in GP racing, and quickly transferred into production. Over the years, the RS 125 has forged a reputation as the standard setter for sports 125’s. Sales success has come naturally too, with the RS 125 topping the sales tables on all European markets. The RS 125 is the inevitable choice of riders entering Sport Production racing. And rightly so, because when the competition gets tough, there is simply no other bike like the Aprilia RS 125.

The engine is wedged inside a rigid GP-inspired slim twin-spar polished aluminum frame and is suspended via a 40mm inverted fork and a hydraulic rear shock. Up front, braking duties are handled by a single 320mm disc with a radial-mount, four-piston caliper, while a single 220mm, twin-piston caliper extends on the back of the polished and curvaceous swingarm.

Launching from a stop requires some clutch finesse as the little one dinger doesn’t have anywhere near the amount of torque as a 4-stroke engine. As you accelerate the Single seems to gain momentum in protest. But as the rpms progressively increase, the engine begins to spool up quicker. That glorious 2-stroke “braappp” matches engine speed and as soon as the crankshaft spins to that magic 10,000 rpm, the engine springs to life and finally rewards its riders with some decent acceleration. Remember to shift though, because if you keep the throttle pinned for just a few seconds longer, the fun is over just as quick as it started.

Tornado Tre 1130

Introduction

The Tornado's frame has been completely revised to meet the new power and torque characteristic of the engine, without loosing any input from the original Tornado project.

Some small improvements,for example the welding system and tube assembly are now more accurate. The aluminum plates have been modified to make the Tornado 1130 more enjoyable and satisfying to ride.

Tornado’s success had all to do with the racing frame and the engine that fitted it so this is what engineers concentrated on improving. The bike steers sharp and the three-cylinder engine fed through fuel injection system is there to back the chassis’s abilities up. When compared to other sporty bikes out there, Benelli is conscious of the missing piston disadvantage and that is why we’re dealing with an 1130cc engine.

First introduced in 2006, the first fully-faired Tornado (previous bikes were naked ones) was what everyone expected from the relatively small Italian manufacturer. The engine develops 120 KW at 10.500 RPM, definitely comparable with Japanese supersports (although we won’t do that, read a bit more) and the 124 Nm at 8000 RPM as well.

The settings provide a more progressive action of the shock absorber to guarantee safer, more stable riding when changing directions, both on the road and on the track.



Another innovation, unique in the universal motorcycling panorama, which we find on all of the TNT 2005 year models is the possibility of modifying motor functions by simply pressing a lighted button on the dash support.
